Toward this objective, Ryder is dedicated to developing and implementing effective environmental practices in all of its business activities, and to continually monitoring these practices to identify opportunities for improvement.
Operating in a manner consistent with the requirements of all the relevant laws and regulations is a core value of our company. |
| IMPLEMENTING |
Ryder's environmental leadership team works with all levels of staff and operating employees to develop and administer programs in support of the Company's environmental policy.
The Company establishes appropriate environmental objectives and targets for its wide range of business activities around the world, considering:
- The needs of our customers,
- The communities in which we provide services, and
- Relevant standards such as ISO 14001.
Our best practice requirements for the disposal of waste materials seek to utilize life cycle and recycling technologies whenever practical.
The Company regularly reviews and updates its environmental management procedures.

| COMMUNICATING |
Information regarding the Company's environmental activities is regularly provided to all levels of the Company, including:
- The Board of Directors,
- Senior executives, and
- Operating managers in the field.
In addition, Ryder communications the Company's established policies and its programs in support of these policies to:
- Shareholders,
- Employees, and
- The public.
The Company also participates in the development of public environmental policy initiatives that are relevant to its business.
